Virtual Top-Up Degree and Virtual Global Opportunities European Union Mobility Programme for Myanmar (EMPM)
There are three types of EMPM virtual scholarships.
- Virtual To-Up scholarship. This is a transfer degree programme for those who need to complete their bachelor’s or master’s to obtain a degree. EMPM Virtual Top Up Scholarship is no longer accepting applications beyond Batch 2.
- Virtual Global Opportunities (Micro-credentials). This is a short course (non-degree) for those who need to upskill.
- Virtual Global Opportunities (Virtual Internships). The internships are for recent graduates and young professionals who want to gain job experience.
Yes, you can. But EMPM will prioritise those who have yet received any scholarship.
Yes, you can. But you need to provide evidence that the university/institution is currently processing your application. Please ask for a letter from the university/institution that you apply if you have yet received a LoA.

No, you do not have to. EMPM accepts original documents and IDs as long as they are visible and legible.
Yes, as long as the university becomes an EMPM partner university. You may apply to your university of choice first and ask the university to contact EMPM (empm@nuffic.nl)

Call for Applications for the EMPM Batch 4 Virtual Scholarship will be open in April 2025.
EMPM does not require applicants to submit transcripts for Virtual Micro credential and Virtual Internship.
Please consult with the university/institution, incase transcript is required to issue letter of acceptance.
It is the applicant’s choice to apply/ get a LoA from more than one university. However, you can only submit ONE LoA/ notification letter from your chosen university.
Candidates can only receive a scholarship from EMPM. Receiving other funding will lead to the termination of the EMPM scholarship.
